The KEF ‘EGG’ took the consumer electronics world by storm when it was first introduced. Its revolutionary looks have been copied by a plethora of imitators but its outstanding performance has been impossible to re-create as awards around the World for these remarkable systems testify.

The most compact of the KHT systems, the KHT1005.2, has continued the success story of this now iconic ‘egg’ as they may look cute but they sound anything but. Now in its second generation, this system delivers an incredible performance that belies its size – more intense, more involving and with the addition of the new KUBE-1 subwoofer with more impact than before.

Experiencing a movie or favourite album through KHT1005.2 is like seeing an old friend after a makeover: fresh, involving, more intense.The centre and satellite speakers all have KEF’s stunning 75mm (3in.) Uni-Q driver - the smallest ever made, its 15mm (0.6in.) metal dome tweeter and double neodymium magnets deliver the extended bandwidth you normally get with much larger units. The curvy die-cast aluminium enclosures eliminate the diffractions and internal resonances that so often blur the output of conventional small speakers, so the sound is cleaner and crisper. The sound image is completed by the KUBE-1 subwoofer, its 150-Watt onboard power amp driving a side-firing 200mm (8in.) long-throw bass unit and 200mm (8in.) ABR.With output fully adjustable for phase, frequency and level, its attack is as forceful as it is accurate. Whether you prefer shelf mounting, wall brackets or optional floor stands with internal cable management, the installation is as discreet as can be - until you press ‘play’, and the whole room fills with immaculate three-dimensional sound. High gloss black and matt silver finishes available.

Satellite Speaker:

KEF has always been renowned for design integrity, and the new KHT 2005.3 is no exception. The cast aluminum enclosures of the satellite speakers are computer optimised to minimise internal resonance and distortion for a purer, cleaner sound. And being identical, there's a perfect tonal match between the front and rear surround speakers and the centre channel. The centre speaker can also be placed horizontally for better placement above or below the TV.

The ingenious multidirectional base has been improved and now makes it even easier to place satellite speakers virtually anywhere - on any flat surface, at any angle on walls, or on the optional stands. And as they're fully magnetically shielded, there's no risk of interference with other equipment nearby.

Subwoofer:

The KUBE-2 delivers a well defined and impressive bass that is sure to rock any home theatre. The 200W on-board Class-D amplifier has all the flexibility you need for personalising the output with frequency and level adjustments and a ‘Bass Boost’ control so any personal preference or room specific conditions can be catered for.

The KUBE-2 features a side-firing 250mm (10in.) long-throw bass driver and a complementing 250mm (10in.) ABR and is available in black with a high gloss upper surface.
