Denon CDR-W1500 Dual-Drive CD Recorder
The CDR-W1500 offers the means to create music CDs as easily as recording using a standard cassette deck. Recording is possible not only from CDs but from externally-connected analog sources as well. The CDR-W1500 offers a convenient Scan Rec Dubbing function to scan for the desired tracks before you record them. Playback features include Dual Play, for independent playback from the CD and CD-R/CD-RW drives, as well as a wealth of recording/playback combinations that take advantage of the two independent drives.
The Direct 44.1 kHz Recording bypasses the A/D, D/A, and sampling rate converters to transfer the digital information directly, for exact bit-or-bit copying accuracy. The CDR-W1500 offers processing for HDCD (High-Definition Compatible Digital), an encode/decode process that ekes better sound out of standard CDs. The recorder will also copy HDCD-encoded CDs at full resolution. The HDCD decoder also improves the sound of non-HDCD discs, thanks to its high-precision digital filter.
The Serial Copy Management System (SCMS) prevents you from making a digital copy of a disc that is already a digital copy, but you may still make an "analog" copy of such a disc by recording it via the analog audio inputs. Additional stellar features include internal relay play (deck 1 to deck 2), random play between decks, track programming, and sample-rate conversion for use with sources such as DAT (digital audio tape) and DSS (digital satellite system) having sample rates ranging from 32 to 48 kHz. The CDR-W1500 display also offers compatibility with English-language CD Text information, so you can add text to the discs you create.
