As we move up the line in Home Theater products, the systems become more robust in their performance and more capable in their features. One can typically expect a LCD TV matched up with a Digital Receiver and a 7.1 speaker package. Most systems also include a Universal Remote that controls everything so you are not cluttering your coffee table with multiple remote controls.
Most often we recommend an LCD over a Plasma or Rear Projection. The LCD’s are immune to the “Burn In” problems that have plagued Plasmas. LCD’s also are maintenance free after an ISF calibration, and unlike rear projections you won’t have to replace bulbs every few years. The LCD’s have become the dominant “go to” TV’s in the US and world wide. The LCD’s also the most power efficient TV and most LCD’s feature the “Energy Star” logo and compliance.
In this price range the receivers open up and allow the customer to gain a lot of features. All the receivers in this price range will include an automatic audio set up and calibration process, analog video upconversion to component video, many supporting audio formats, many audio modes, and typically 100+ watts per channel. Another feature is that every receiver in this price point will allow multi-room modes which will give you five channels of amplification for your Main/Theater zone and allow the 6th and 7th channels to power speakers in another room independent of the content in the main zone. This means that you can watch a movie in your main zone and listen to a CD in another room.
We most often recommend a 7.1 speaker package for this price range so you get the full surround sound experience. If 7.1 is not an option for whatever reason, or you do not want 7.1 in your theater zone, this is a great package for using the multi-zone capabilities of the receiver and provides speakers for multi-zone operations.
We have a few different types of speakers for this Theater Pack: floor standing towers with bookshelf surrounds, bookshelf packages, on-wall packages, in-wall packages, and in-ceiling packages. We have a solution for you no matter what style of speaker system you prefer. An in-wall subwoofer is also an option for those who do not want a box in the corner.
Any system that we put together includes protection from electrical surges and AC power noise. You need to protect your electronics from the power they use, from spikes in the power lines, and you need replacement protection from lightning damage. We use Monster Cable’s Monster Power Line Conditioning products as our “go to” equipment for stellar performance, competitive pricing and the Replacement Protection Coverage on all connected products.
