Jamo D7 LCR -
The D 7 is a THX Ultra2 system designed for easy integration in a 'real world' living room. As well as probably being the most compact Ultra2 system in the world, it is also designed to look good in its own right, with a fully integrated feel to every aspect (a prime example being the aluminium tube from the floor stand, an element that’s continued visually in the design of the speakers).
D 7LCR is the result of more than 30 years of Jamo experience in the speaker market. You may well think that you are Batman soaring over Gotham City, or Herbert von Karajan in the midst of Beethoven's Fifth but we promise to return you to the room when the film or CD is over!
D 7LCR has five separate drivers: two for bass, two for midrange, and one for treble. This means that it can provide symphony orchestra sound pressure levels with no apparent effort.
There are two pairs of input terminals, designed to allow for fine-tuning the frequency characteristics according to placement.
In a 6 or 7 channel setup you simply add one/two extra D 7LCRs as surround back speakers
Jamo D7 Subwoofer -
The D 7 is a THX Ultra2 system designed for easy integration in a 'real world' living room. As well as probably being the most compact Ultra2 system in the world, it is also designed to look good in its own right, with a fully integrated feel to every aspect (a prime example being the aluminium tube from the floor stand, an element that’s continued visually in the design of the speakers).
Like D 7LCR, the surround speaker has five separate drivers. When D 7SUR is correctly mounted on the side walls of your home cinema, they will direct sound forward, backward and out into the room, creating a perfect 3-dimensional sound picture.
D 7SUR is a true dipolar speaker with an array of one 1in tweeter and two 2½in midranges in each side of the speaker. In a conventional dipole speaker you would experience poor bass reproduction due to the phase cancellation effect between the two woofers – we have solved this problem by having only one 5½in woofer mounted in the middle of the cabinet. Naturally all drivers are the same as used in the D 7LCR for perfect timbre matching.
Jamo D7 Subwoofer -
D 7SUB is designed to match the rest of the D 7 series and is remarkably compact when you consider its specifications – this subwoofer is intended to easily slot into domestic living rooms.
In order to match the D 7LCR and D 7SUR sonically we have created a monster subwoofer: We have used a 25mm thick cabinet made of very stiff MDF material, mounted an extremely powerful 15in woofer with Motional Feed Back (MFB), and powered it up with a 400 watt Class D amplifier that delivers a peak power output of no less than 700 watts! The D 7SUB reaches all the way down to 20Hz which could cause problems in some rooms so we have added a Boundary Gain Compensation filter to fine-tune its response.
According to the THX Ultra 2 specifications you need two D 7SUBs to comply with the stringent guidelines. However, experience has shown that in smaller rooms one D 7SUB is more than sufficient to get the job done. We guarantee that you will still be able to hear, and not least feel, when the T. Rex roars and starts running after innocent bystanders, or as it would probably phrase it, “lunch”.
