The Model ENC-KIT-M Digital Audio Distribution System 4-Source 4-Zone Kit offers the basic components needed to assemble a four room music distribution system.

The kit provides four rooms of amplified music distribution from the Model ENC-HUB Audio Distribution system Hub; four speaker zone controllers with the Model ENC-DRS Keypads, IR control of four audio source components with the Model 2171-4 Single-Head IR Emitters, system remote control with the Model ENC-REM Micro Remote, and a mounting solution with the H275 Universal Mounting and Wire Management Bracket.

Basic Installation Steps

Step 1: Locate and Install Brackets (Prior to Drywall)

  1. Determine the location you wish to serve as your structured wiring location and install the H275 Mounting Bracket.
  2. Determine the location you wish to mount each keypad and install a single gang electrical box at each location.
  3. Determine the location you wish to mount each input module and install a single gang electrical box at each location.

Step 2: Pre-Wire the House

  1. Run a cat5e wire from your structured wiring location to each keypad location. (Label Each Wire)
  2. Optional: For “High Powered” run a 16 gauge 2 conductor speaker wire from structured wiring location to each keypad.
  3. Optional: Run a Cat5 cable from your keypad to any ENC-LIWP local source input modules (not sold in kit). (Label Each Wire)
  4. Run a cat5e wire from you structured wiring location to each source input module.

Step 3: "Finish out" Structured Wiring Location

  1. Install your ENC-HUB onto the H275 Module
  2. Punch down your Cat5 cables using the color coded terminals on the ENC-HUB (Blue to Blue, Green to Green...)
  3. Connect optional 16 gauge 2 conductor speaker wire to High Performance Power Outputs for each keypad.
  4. Keep system power disconnected

Step 4: "Finish out" Keypads & Input Module

  1. Punch down your Cat5 connections to each keypad.
  2. Connect optional high-powered 16/2 power wire connection
  3. Punch down optional local source input Cat5 cable
  4. Install keypads to electrical boxes
  5. Install face plate covers

Step 5: "Finish out" Source Input Modules

  1. Punch down your Cat5 connections to each input module.
  2. Install modules to electrical boxes
  3. Install face plate covers
  4. Connect your source using digital interconnect cable or RCA analog cable

Step 6: Power and Test System

  1. Connect the ENC-PS power supply to the ENC-HUB and power up
  2. Test the system

  • Add 2 ENC-HUB
  • Add 2 ENC-PS
  • Add 5-8 ENC-DRS Keypads

Expand to 13-16 Zones

  • Add 3 ENC-HUB
  • Add 3 ENC-PS
  • Add 9-12 ENC-DRS Keypads

Add in-ceiling speakers and speaker wire for each additional zone added.

BEST SYSTEM FOR THE MONEY!
Hi, I went with this system per Chris' recommendation. The Encore system has high power keypads, works with 4 speakers on each keypad, connects to RCA, Optical, and Digital Coaxial connections. I included the Local inputs for video game systems. The overall sound quality is pretty rocking compared to other systems. The Encore system with Aton speakers makes it very loud and works well for parties. The Aton speakers sound better than my older Bose inceiling speakers. The install was pretty easy even for a novice like myself. We love it! Thanks guys!
