When someone rings the doorbell, the doorbell will sound throughout the home. Since voice always take precedence over music, talking to whoever is at your doorautomatically mutes your music in all four zones

Music:

Individual room stations provide localized control from a choice of 6 different music streams so each person can listen to his or her own music. You can also direct the music you are playing into all rooms - or you have your music follow you from room to room. No matter how you do it, the sound quality is amazing because it's all digital music. Each zone contains a class D amplifier delivering incredible listening power at 60 watts to each room(30 watts per channel). Each room will drive a pair of 8-ohm speakers as well as a powered subwoofer. Add a local audio source to each room with a local audio source wall plate. You can turn the entire system on or off from one station. The univeral remote with LCD display allows you to control all of your audio sources simply by pointing the remote at any keypad.

Intercom:

Be able to communicate with your family without having t5 chase after them through the entire house. You can also use the XDM to monitor your children in other rooms or tell them to come to dinner. The XDM's page-all functions allow whole home communications. You can communicate with anyone, in any room, at any time - even at the front door. Your media or family room with your six audio sources - should be the home of your Central Controller XDM46CC, which is wired to the keypads using Cat5 and 16 gauge speaker wire, in the other rooms. Its simplified wire design makes it a snap to deliver 60 watts to every room (zone).
