This lets you put your ABN where it's most convenient for you, and not be constrained to the area around your Internet connection.

"To make installation even more convenient, the Wireless-G Bridge simply plugs into any A/C outlet. To get connected, just plug your existing ABN adapter to the G-Bridge using a Cat5 cable. The built-in Push 'n' connect Setup makes it easy to configure the Bridge to your wireless network's settings. To protect your data and privacy, all wireless transmissions can be encrypted with WEP or industrial-strength Wi-Fi Protected Access (WPA/WPA2) security.

Requires Windows XP to install
The installation software required to configure this wireless adapter only runs on XP. It will not run on Windows 7 or Vista even if you configure it to run with XP service pack 2 compatibility mode and with Administrator rights. You can google on these keywords to find threads about this: linksys wbp54g windows 7 In addition linksys has end-of-lifed the wbp54g and doesn't list a replacement. I wish I had known this so I could have placed an order for a different wireless bridge. Now I have my nextalarm ABN but no way to connect it.

Works fine in Windows 7
This unit comes with an installation disc that worked fine in windows 7. Once isntalled you no longer need the PC for this to operate. Easy to install, works great.

Like previous reviewer said, if you have a Mac or Vista (which is ALL I have), this thing does not work... I have an Airport Extreme router...this is just a wireless bridge; if you have mac network hardware, just use an airport express, works perfectly!!!

The bridge is excellent and was built to partner with the phone adapter - and set up was very easy to do. I can now put my adapter in a remote area of the house and not even have to worry about running wires - just turn it on and it's good to go! I would

So far it has been working perfectly. I am so glad I got rid of DEVCON and now use NextAlarm. When I asked Devcon for a solution to removing my land line, they told me the only option was to put radio based equipment valued at $399 (on "sale" at $299) and
