Use our Layout sheet as a reminder on each cable you run in your system. Keep this finished sheet in your wiring cabinet for future reference.
See example below:
Run # This is the number of the cable run - This should match the number you place on the cable for reference.
Roughed In - Check this box when the cables have been run through the walls between the start location and destination.
Tested - Check this box when you have tested the cables. Cables should be tested before the walls are finished. Once the walls are done, it is too late to change damaged a wire.
Start Location - Easy as said - Lable this where the cable run starts (Wiring Panel, Security System, Audio/Video Rack)
Destination - Label where the cable run ends. This is great for future upgrades, changes, or troubleshooting.
Cable Type - For Planning Stages - When you start designing your system place the cable type for each run here. Then you can reference it when the project starts.
Media Type - What is the cable used for? Cable TV or Security Camera? Phone or Computer Network?
Special Notes - This is a good place to specify anything that you may want to know later that you may not remember.
